About Boogz Boogetz
The year is 1990. At the time unbeknownst to many it will be forever known as a Golden Age in Hip-Hop; the rap wonder years. During this timeless era this decade gave birth to many of the genre’s legends such as Biggie, Jay-Z, Nas, and Tupac. Fast-forward it’s 20 years later and a similar vibe is in the air. For the first time in a long time, typical gangster or drug dealer raps aren’t on the forefront; lyricism is. With newbies like Jay Electronica, Wiz Khalifa, and Currensy breathing life back into the art form, under the reign of Hip-Hop’s current king Kanye West, it seems like wordplay is here to stay. New York’s own Boogz Boogetz is one of the leaders in this newly re-emerging sub-genre, which is quickly multiplying and bringing lost categories back to our music.
Born in what is considered to be the boondocks, Boogz Boogetz arrived on the scene in the late 80′s in Far Rockaway Queens. Raised by his mom Boogz was schooled in Queens and then Brooklyn after relocating there with his family. As a spoiled brat, becoming a rapper at the early age of 14 only added to his growing popularity. By 17 he knew that this was going to be his career.
Soon after taking his career serious Boogetz started to work with his older brother and longtime protégé of Mobb Deep’s Prodigy Un Pacino. Once Boogz music began to circulate on the underground he became friends with music video director Jordan Tower. Tower knew that Boogz would inevitably be discovered so he took him on national and international shoots, and began to document Boogetz career on film by creating a slew of music videos and webisodes.
This experience not only changed Boogz life it expanded his fan base to a broader market. “When I started getting good feedback about 2 years ago my fans was anxious for me to put a mixtape out…Â paying my dues to greats like Prodigy, Cormega, Un Pacino, DJ Khaled and many other big artists that inspired me to grind”! Since then Boogz has had over 4 million views on his videos, performances in Canada with artists like Juelz Santana, making classics with Wiz Khalifa, and starting his own label YRS Music Group with his partner Al Prince.
Boogz who describes his sound as “epic/stoner/soulful music ” listens to artists such as Jay-Z, Kanye, Lil Wayne, Nas, Common, and OutKast to fuel his creativity and motivation. “Great music inspires me to make great music! When i hear a great song i feel i can make a way better song”. With his new mixtape “Far Rockaway’s Most Wanted” hosted by DJ Khaled, DJ Ill Will & DJ Rockstar heating up the internet and the streets Boogetz is well on his way towards acquiring the ever so coveted and illusive major record deal. On the heels of hit songs: “Cool” produced by Lil Boi Boogetz let’s his fans know that is ok to be yourself, on “Go In” featuring Ace Hood and Kid Ink produced by Black the Beast (Diggy Simmons) is a great commercial/hood  record that everyone can relate to, “Favorite Show” featuring Wiz Khalifa produced by G14 has a chill/laid back vibe, and “High Life” produced by Rocky which describes Boogz lifestyle, the odds of success are stacked in his favor.
Boogz Boogetz has a bright future on the dawn of the new renaissance and evolution in our Hip-Hop culture.  He has his eyes set on working with Jay-Z, and Kanye West, touring the world, and bringing home some platinum plaques to his record label. All reachable goals tasks for someone who views themselves as “one of the most humble and versatile artists out there”! When this type of grind, creativity, positive outlook, and an abundance of talent all meet in perfect timing a star is born.
